Voices from Our Global Community
We are honored to be a part of so many sacred journeys. Here is what parents and students have to say about their experience and the impact of our Al-Azhar-certified approach.
Your Questions About Our Hifz Program, Answered
What qualifications do your Hifz tutors have?
Our standards are exceptionally high. Every Hifz tutor at Quran Sheikh Institute is a native Arab speaker and a graduate of the prestigious Al-Azhar University. They are all Huffaz (have memorized the entire Quran) and have passed rigorous tests in Tajweed and pedagogical methods before they are permitted to teach.
Are your tutors certified (Ijazah) to teach Hifz?
Yes. This is the gold standard for our Hifz program. Our senior tutors hold an Ijazah (certification), which is a formal authorization to teach, connected by an unbroken chain of scholars (Sanad) all the way back to the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). This is your guarantee of authentic, world-class instruction.
How do you create a personalized Hifz plan for each student?
We believe every student’s journey is unique. Your path begins in the free trial class, where the tutor assesses your current level, goals, and learning style. Based on this, they craft a one-on-one, achievable plan that defines your daily/weekly memorization targets (Sabaq) and revision schedule, ensuring the pace is perfect for you.
What is the Hifz methodology for non-Arabic speakers?
This is our specialty. For non-Arabic speakers, we first build a strong foundation. We ensure your Makharij (pronunciation) and Tajweed are correct before memorizing a verse. The tutor recites, you repeat and correct, and only then do you memorize. This ensures you are memorizing the Quran perfectly from day one.
How do you track and report a student’s memorization progress?
We track progress meticulously. Your tutor maintains a daily tracking sheet to monitor your new lesson (Sabaq), recent revision (Sabqi), and old revision (Manzil). Parents also receive detailed monthly progress reports outlining their child’s achievements, strengths, and areas for improvement, so you are always part of the journey.
How do tutors ensure proper Tajweed and Makharij during memorization?
We believe Hifz and Tajweed are inseparable. Our tutors provide instant, on-the-spot correction for every verse. You cannot move to the next ayah until the current one is recited perfectly according to its Tajweed rules. This method builds correct recitation habits directly into your memory.
What strategies do your tutors use to keep students motivated?
We understand that Hifz is a marathon. Our tutors are trained as patient mentors who provide constant positive encouragement. They celebrate small victories (like completing a Surah), set achievable goals to prevent burnout, and connect the verses to their beautiful meanings. This spiritual connection is the ultimate motivator.
